How to add multiple links to your Instagram profile:
Instagram provides a way to add one link to your profile. It is actually useful if you want to drive traffic to your website or any other platform outside Instagram.
Instagram doesn’t allow users to add links with a post. This makes it difficult to drive traffic to other platforms.
For example, if you have a Etsy store and you are posting an image of a product on Instagram, you don’t have a way to add a link on the post.
You can add your store link on your profile and with the post description, you can mention that the store link is in your bio. People can move to your profile and click on that link.
But what about multiple links?
For example, if you have multiple stores or if you have another YouTube channel or your facebook page, there is no way you can add all of these links to your profile.
If you want to add multiple links, you can either:
- Create your own website and add all of these links on your website or
- Use a third-party website to list your lists.
In this post, I will show you how to use a third-party website called linktree. This is a popular website and it is used even by users with millions of followers.
What is linktree:
Linktree is a website that helps you to create a free webpage for you where you can add different links that you want to share. It can be easily integrate with social media sites like instagram, Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. You need to share the link of the page that you created here and anyone with that link will get all other links you have added on this page.
For example, you can create a linktree page with your YouTube, Facebook and your etsy shop URLs and you can add the page link on your Instagram profile.
Anyone visiting your profile can click on that link and click on other links on that page to check your accounts on other platforms.
Linktree provides a unique URL for each user. So, you can match it with your name or your Instagram handle.
Linktree provides different other features as well like Analytics, customizable pages etc. They have a pro plan which includes many more extra features like customizable backgrounds, changing the style of your page buttons, social icons etc.
Let me show you how to create an account on Linktree and how to add your links.
Register for linktree:
The first thing you need to do is to create an account on linktree. It is a free website and you need one email address to create an account here.
- Go to [their website][https://linktr.ee/]. Open it on a browser window.
- It will show a page something like below:
You need to click on Get started for free or Sign up free button to start creating the account.
Create your account:
It will show you a form to fill.
You need to fill the following three fields:
- The first one is to create your unique page link. Add your name or anything you want to be your page link in the Username field. For example, if you enter alex in the Username, your link will be https://linktr.ee/alex.
- It needs to be unique. Once you enter a name, it will check if this name is available to use or not. If it is not, it will show you an error message that the username is already taken.
- The second box is for your email address. Enter a valid email on this box.
- The third box is for a password. Enter a strong password and store it in a safe place for backup.
Once done, click on the checkbox to agree with their terms and conditions and privacy policy and click on the Sign up with email button to start the signup.
Fill your info:
The next form is to fill your info.
- Write your name in the your name box.
- Select one category that describes what you offer. It will also show a list of optional subcategories once you click on a category.
- Click on the I’m not a robot checkbox and click on continue once you are done.
Verify your email:
Linktree will send one verification link to your email and you need to click on it to verify it.
Check your inbox and you will get one email as like below:
Click on the Verify Email button. It will open a link on your browser window. If you are already logged-in on that browser, it will complete the verification. Else, right click on the Verify Email button, click on copy link and paste that link on a browser where you are logged in to linktree.
Once your email is verified, it will show a window that your account has been verified.
Add a link to your page:
You can add a link to your page, change your appearance, change settings or change your account to pro. Click on the Add New Link button under the Links tab to add a new link.
It will ask you to enter a title and url for that link.
You can also click on the Explore Links button to find options for different types of links like link for a video, music etc.
Appearance section:
Under the appearance section, you can edit your profile, add title and description, edit the theme, change the appearance of buttons, fonts etc. Few of these items are available only for pro accounts.
Add links for your social media accounts:
Under the Settings tab, you can add links for your social media accounts, you email etc.
Once you are done with your customization, you can add your linktree url to Instagram profile.
The advantage of linktree is that you can add the same link to different social media accounts. You need to edit only the links inside linktree dashboard and it will be reflected in all places. You can add/delete links at anytime you want.
